Well it’s that time of year again, the time to reflect on the past and see a way to make the future better. Be that a way to improve yourself, your life or your habits. Quitting smoking, losing weight and taking up exercise are always popular and healthy resolutions.
I for one make the same resolution every year and it rarely lasts past the end of January. Yes I am a serial dieter. Every year without fail I vow to stop eating junk and replace it with salad and fruit. This usually lasts for anywhere between a day and three and half days. Impressive I know!
This year however is going to be different. Yes I have a new resolve towards healthier eating. I want to cut down on the sweets not set the unrealistic goal of cutting them out completely, we all have those bad days where only a piece of chocolate will help. I like salads and will be eating more of them but really all salad and no carbs make Babs a dull girl. With this in mind I have bought a cookbook full of yummy looking recipes aimed at food lovers that want to lose weight and keep it off.
As some of you will know I took up running late last year using the ‘Couch to 5K’ app. With everything that happened in the second half of last year I was not very dedicated to this but really enjoyed doing it all the same. Once the storm decides to stop bullying Ireland I will be back pounding the pavements and the weekly blogs about my progress will be featuring once more.
So in short my new year resolutions for 2014 are:
- Healthier eating
- Run (5K0
- Regular blogging
What are your resolutions?
