ITWBN – The Best Style in Winter is Warmth

Well, winter is finally here! It’s time to dig out those hot water bottles, buy some hot chocolate and prepare to freeze while you defrost the car every morning.

I LOVE winter (and not just because of Christmas and my birthday) but because I love the fashion that the winter months bring. Hats, scarves gloves, fluffy socks (ok, maybe not super chic but they are oh so cosy) and coats.

A good winter coast is probably the best investment you will ever make. If bought well, it could last a lifetime, or at least a couple of winter seasons. With this in mind I went on the hunt for the perfect winter coat.

My research put many a gorgeous creation in my line of sight but unfortunately the price tag was just as fabulous. However, never underestimate a woman on a mission.

I picked up this gorgeous burgundy number in Dunnes Stores in Waterford. From the Savida range texture is key this jacket. I’m usually not a huge fan of velvet but the velvet trim on this piece really gives it a bit of edge. The tactile, wool-blend shell has a satin-soft lining. Glossy, contrast buttons and a cinched-in waist provide a feminine touch, typical of the brand.

I particularly love the cinched-in waist as it suits my figure and the colour is just perfect for winter. This baby will be keeping me warm during the chilly Christmas months and into the early weeks of Spring.
